Sperzo: let's customize

The first time I saw Raffo, I was walking down las Ramblas in Barcelona in 2006. I was with my friends and we were coming back home I guess at 6 am when 4 guys from Naples came to us and started to talk. What impressed me most was that these guys had 4 unbelievable and never-seen pair of sneakers. I immediately asked one where he found those shoes and he said that one of them designed it just for fun. This guy is Raffaele Marone aka Sperzo, a normal guy from Naples who attends university of industrial design in Naples. He loves Graphics and design since he was a child and he started to customize sneakers when he was 16 years old! By the time we were in Barcelona he was already thinking about starting his own activity and choosing as a logo the tattoo he made in Barcelona: many stripes of colours parallel to one another . Now he studies and works in a streetwear shop in Naples , Junior, where he customizes sneakers and works on his first T-shirt line, came out last summer. He has also realized the ep cover of Calcutta Bubbles that was very successful on web and at the moment he is working on his autumn-winter line of sweatshirts under the Junior brand. When I asked him: “what is design for you??” he said:” design is creativity, future and hard work!” He is only 21 years old but I guess he has the energy and perseverance to emerge! cbs class 91!

I was 17 years old and I was probably skipping the lessons….when there were two 14yearsold-guy from Ravenna , Pit and egg, who were recording their first album. Everything started because they have been excluded by all their friends ‘cause they were not metal so they decided to make their own hip hop band “calcutta bubbles”. In 2006 they found their team that’s called Cbs crew, united by the passion of music, skating, graphics and party. Now they have found their own label and even if there are not economically strong they can brag about collaboration with very cool Italian band like Bugo, 0131 and Brilliants. In the next few months will come out “cbs death death remix”, the second volume of “cbs they remix”, with new song and a Venezuelan rapper ep edited by pit. I can’t wait to listen to it because this guys really rock!

Nicolò Artioli

If I say Nicolò Artioli you say...who?????If I hadn't been on his myspace like 3 hours ago maybe I would had answered the same...and that's pretty strange because this guy is from Ferrara like me and in Ferrara anyone know eachother. By the way as I said before his name is Nicolò Artioli and he is a fashion designer. He had studied in Rimini culture and technique of fashion and he graduated in 2006. After several jobs like by A.N.G.E.L.O, one of the most coolest vintage shop in Europe, Nicolò decided to begin university of Design in Treviso Iuav. When I asked him what design means for him he said: "Design is art, made for men and women and it has been created to live better expressing ourself". That's the philosofy behind his work.
